Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park

Forests, rivers and high mountain lakes to explore at your own pace. From our accommodation, the Vall de Boí is a gateway to the Aigüestortes sector.

Nature and hiking Access from Boí Options for different abilities

Two gateways, two experiences

From Boí you can visit the Planell d’Aigüestortes and the Sant Nicolau valley. Lake Sant Maurici, shown in the header photograph, is in the other sector of the park and is usually reached from Espot. These are different excursions: choose your sector before planning the journey.

For a first visit from Noray, we suggest starting with Aigüestortes. If you want a longer walk, check the official itineraries and adapt your route to your ability and the conditions on the day.

Choose your mountain day

A first introduction

Planell d’Aigüestortes

A landscape of boardwalks, water and woodland. The circular route is a good option for a relaxed visit and includes an accessible section.

Allow half a day for transport and stops. Check the route conditions if you require accessible facilities.

For a longer walk

Sant Nicolau valley

Trails lead further into the valley from Aigüestortes. Estany Llong is one of the walks you can plan using the official map.

Bring hiking footwear, water and food. The time needed depends on the route and your pace.

Another sector of the park

Estany de Sant Maurici

A visit with Els Encantats as a backdrop. Plan your access from Espot and allow enough time for the journey.

Do not confuse this access with the taxi service departing from Boí.

Getting there from your accommodation

Travel to Boí, where the authorised 4×4 taxi service leaves Plaça del Treio for the Planell d’Aigüestortes. Private vehicle access inside the park is restricted. If you prefer to walk in, check the access points and route before setting off.

How much does a visit cost?

Transport is the main expense when visiting by taxi. Guided activities and mountain refuges are booked separately.
